Garland County Government Office Building with cleaned brick facade and rehabilitated stucco columns

Exterior Restoration

About the project

A county landmark got a sealed envelope, restored brick and stucco, and a new entry canopy.

CCG restored the exterior of the Garland County Government Building in Hot Springs, from the historic brick facade and stucco columns to a new standing seam metal entry canopy.
The Garland County Government Building had years of deteriorated stucco on its exterior columns and a failed entry canopy that required full demolition.

Once work began, crews also uncovered a concealed broken pipe. CCG phased the project to seal the building envelope first, stopping moisture intrusion before stucco rehabilitation and canopy construction. The team protected the site through a two-week winter shutdown with temperatures down to 15°F, and coordinated on-site approval from the County Judge for every stucco, mortar, and paint color selection.

CCG cleaned, repointed, and sealed 7,700 SF of historic brick facade and rehabilitated 4,081 SF of stucco columns to a uniform, county-approved finish. A new 76 LF standing seam metal entry canopy with LED lighting replaced the failed structure, and two automatic sliding entry doors improved ADA accessibility. Fresh paint on railings, frames, and signage, plus a new landscaped planter bed, completed the renewal of a prominent community landmark.

Before Construction

Where It Started

Years of moisture had cracked and spalled the stucco on the exterior columns, and the original entry canopy had failed. Paint was peeling from the window frames, and the public entrance still relied on manual doors.
