Behavioral Health Adaptive Reuse
About the project
A 1969 nursing and rehabilitation facility became a 75-bed drug and alcohol treatment center.

The challenge
Mildew, water damage and an aging roof had taken a toll, and the new institutional use required new life safety systems, ADA restrooms and a secure high psych unit. Demolition also exposed an unbraced south roof and bearing walls blocking an expanded theater and media room. CCG phased the work, stabilizing the building first, and ran the project 340 miles from its North Little Rock office.
After an initial phase of demolition and mildew remediation, CCG re-roofed the building, sealed the roof deck with spray foam, braced the south attic and added beams to open up the theater and media rooms. New HVAC, electrical, fire sprinkler and fire alarm systems went in, with support from CCG’s own electrical and plumbing crews, and the slab was cut to reroute sewer lines for ADA restrooms. The high psych unit gained a secure sally port entry. Haven Health Management received a code-compliant facility with 75 beds in 32 bedrooms, approved for occupancy in September 2026.
